The Code of Conduct reaffirms LAN commitment to the ethical principles detailed in this policy by making clear that all staffs are required to abide by this code, behaving professionally and with respect and consideration for others.
The Code of Conduct is shaped around four key ethics principles that are intended to guide ethical decision making and behavior. Each principle is strengthened by the standards of conduct describing the kind of behavior that demonstrates that principle. The principles and associated standards are equally important.

The ethics principles are:
• Integrity and impartiality

• Promoting the public good

• Commitment to the system of government

• Accountability and transparency

    8.1- Policy scope and application:

This policy applies to all staff and members representing LARN, including accredited and associate members of LAN

9. Bullying

Bullying in any organization can be described as a repeated and unreasonable behavior directed towards a person or a group of people that creates a risk to health and safety.
A reasonable workplace management action cannot be described as bulling until it becomes an unreasonable and a repeated behavior toward a singled out same person.

It is possible for a person to be bullied, harassed and discriminated against at the same time.
Detailed below are examples of behaviors, whether intentional or unintentional, that may be regarded as bullying or workplace bullying if they are repeated, unreasonable and creates a risk to health and safety. Some examples include:

• Abusive, insulting or offensive language or comments
• Unjustified criticism or complaints
• Deliberately excluding someone from workplace or training activities
• Withholding information that is vital for effective work or quality performance
• Setting unreasonable timelines or constantly changing deadlines
• Setting tasks that are unreasonably below or beyond a person's skill level
• Denying access to information, supervision, consultation or resources to the detriment of a worker or student
• Spreading misinformation or malicious rumors
• Changing work arrangements to deliberately inconvenience a particular staff or members.

Bullying is not just a simple abuse of power from supervisors to subordinates. Staff or members can bully their supervisors. Bullying, including workplace bullying, can be carried out in a variety of ways including through email and text messaging or social media channels.

10. Conflict of Interest

Conflict of Interest is a situation in which an individual has competing professional or personal interests. Such competing interests could make it difficult for an individual to fulfil their duties impartially, and potentially could improperly influence the performance of their official duties and responsibilities.

An apparent (or perceived) conflict of interest exists where it appears that individual private interests could improperly influence the performance of their duties and responsibilities whether or not this is, in fact, the case. Individuals must be conscious that perceptions of conflict of interest may be as important as an actual conflict.

A potential conflict of interest arises where an individual has a private interest which is such that an actual conflict of interest would arise if the member were to become involved in relevant (that is conflicting) official duties and responsibilities in the future.

Consequences of non-compliance with this Policy and Code of Conduct:

 â€‹

Non-compliance with this Policy and Code of Conduct carries significant consequences that can have far-reaching implications for individuals and the organization as a whole.

Firstly, disciplinary actions may be taken, ranging from verbal warnings and written reprimands to suspension and even termination of employment. These actions not only impact the individual's professional reputation but also affect their financial stability and future career prospects.

Moreover, non-compliance can result in legal ramifications, including lawsuits, fines, and regulatory investigations. Legal battles can be protracted, costly, and damage the organization's reputation, leading to loss of trust from clients, partners, and stakeholders. Additionally, non-compliance can trigger breaches of confidentiality, data security, or intellectual property, resulting in reputational damage and financial losses.

The impact extends beyond individuals and the organization, affecting team dynamics and employee morale. Non-compliance erodes trust among colleagues and creates a hostile work environment. This can lead to decreased productivity, increased turnover rates, and difficulty attracting top talent.

Ultimately, the consequences of non-compliance with this Policy and Code of Conduct are multifaceted, encompassing professional, legal, financial, and interpersonal ramifications that can have long-lasting negative effects on individuals, the organization, and its stakeholders.
